Synopse

17-yeart-old Mai (Do Nguyen Lan Ha) - awarded the Vietnamese Film Prize for this role) is glad to escape the poverty of her village in central Vietnam. But instead of working the factory job she was promised in Saigon, she is forced into prostitution. When her sister wants to take up the same factory job, Mai makes her way home. Director Thanh Van Nguyen, also awarded the Vietnamese Film Prize for "Little Heart", was inspired by a news report on a fate shared by many girls who leave home to find work.
