Synopse
From 1926 to 1929, civil war reigned between government troops and Catholic peasant militias in Mexico. The reason was an edict that was supposed to weaken the influence of the Catholic Church and which greatly reduced freedom of religion in the country. The Last Christeros is set 10 years after the official end of the "Guerra Cristera": a scattered group of Christeros have rejected the state's offer of an amnesty and continue fighting for their beliefs.Badly equipped and running out of supplies, they move from hiding place to hiding place, on the run form the army and in a daily struggle with the mountainous, arid landscape. An intense, more spiritual than military drama.
