Synopse
Enfant terrible Lars von Trier explores the sadistic depths of a serial killer. Loner Jack (Matt Dillon) is highly intelligent, but also highly dangerous. Jack is a serial killer. In the 1970s he kills people in brutal and sadistic ways, mainly women, and gets off on his victims' suffering. For Jack these are not crimes, he regards each murderous act as a piece of art. And while the police over the years get closer and closer to the killer, Jack takes ever greater risks. For he is still not satisfied with his "oeuvre": he wants to create the ultimate work of art.
Regie
In 1995, LARS VON TRIER (*1956) was a co-initiator of the Dogma manifesto which left its mark on European cinema. His uncompromising films have often caused scandals. The House that Jack Built is no exception, with its premiere ending in uproar at Cannes.
