Synopse
A wonderful love story from Djibouti which shines a light on the health crisis in Africa. Guled and Nasra (Yasmin Warsame) have a good, strong relationship. Together with their teenage son Mahad, they live on the outskirts of the capital of Djibouti. They are facing difficult times: Nasra has a chronic kidney illness and urgently needs an expensive operation. Guled already works very hard as a gravedigger: how can they get the money to save Nasra and keep the family together?

KHADAR AYDERUS AHMED (*1981 in Mogadishu) lives in Finland and has already made several successful shorts, including The Night Thief (2017). The Gravedigger’s Wife is his debut feature.
