Synopse
Anna and Matti loved each other in their youth but were separated during WWII. Years later - she a widow, he a married man - they meet again. The autobiographical novel of Finnish nobel prize winner Frans Emil Sillanpää is rendered to the big screen with much compassion and sensuality and a fine mastery of nuances which is highly appealing. The award-winning emotional drama is considered a masterpiece in Finland.
