Synopse
He was a politician, writer (winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953) and painter: England’s most famous prime minister, Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965). In this film biography, director Richard Loncraine concentrates on the period between 1934 and 1939, when Churchill was up a political siding – his assessment of the political situation was unpopular, but it proved correct, particularly with regard to Hitler. Albert Finney is a brilliant Churchill, encorporating all his gestures, expressions and mannerisms, and Vanessa Redgrave is equally convincing as Churchill’s loyal wife, Clemmie.
