Synopse
Orlando, Florida. Moonee (Brooklynn Prince) is only 6, but has one heck of a temperament. Her precocious pranks don't seem to bother her very young mother Halley (Bria Vinaite). Like all the inhabitants of the Magic Castle motel, Halley is on a shaky financial footing and thus forced to get through life by more or less respectable means. She's supported by the motel manager Bobby (Willem Dafoe) who has a big heart and is always trying to bring order to the chaos of her life. The Florida Project is a happy film about an unhappy world – with an excellent Willem Dafoe in the leading role.
Regie
SEAN BAKER (*1971) became well-known with his film Starlet (2012) and above all Tangerine (2015) which was created entirely on his iPhone – in contrast to his sixth film The Florida Project, which was shot on 35mm.
