Synopse
In the 1970s in the deeply religious town of Saveh, a two hours’ drive from Tehran, 16-year old Emkan (Mehdi Morady) dreams of music, art and literature, but none of these activities is permitted. Ejected from the mosque for sketching, his father burns his books and he is forced to destroy his violin. Then Emkan falls in love with Maassoum (Mina Molania), a Jewish girl from his school, whose parents run a cinema. Her family is forced to leave town during the revolution, and Emkan leaves home to find his true love. A semi-autobiographical coming-of-age tale by Abolfazl Jalili.
