Synopse
A man steps out of the ocean. Thus begins this tale about an unnamed terminal disease (is it Aids?) that befalls an Indian village by the sea. The community asks the government for medical help, but the delegation they send is ignored in the far-off capital. Director Haghighat depicts a conflict between urban and rural areas, predominant in third world countries, whereby the rural areas and their traditions are"forgotten" by the urban governments.
Regie
Chapour Haghighat, born in 1947, writer and director. After his feature film debut"The Nightly Song of the Travellers" (2005), "The Firm Land" is his second feature film.
