Synopse
The film, framed as a series of flashbacks, charts Nicolas Sarkozy's life between the reelection of previous president Chirac in 2002 and his own successful bid for the presidency in 2007. As he awaits the result of his electoral duel with Ségolène Royal, the centre-right politico wonders why he can't reach his wife Cécilia. The Conquest is a fictional report based on facts covering Sarkozy's ascent as he is maneuvering around and outwitting various opponents, and the breakdown of his marriage.
