Synopse

In this oddball comedy based on real events, the inhabitants of a small town in the Swedish provinces prove with record-breaking cakes that they are anything but boring. In 1984, a TV show voted the sleepy little town of Köping "the most boring place in Sweden". While the rest of the country was laughing at its expense, Köping was in uproar. More than anyone else, Hans Pettersson is not prepared to take this insult lying down. And he has a plan designed to show everyone: Köping will make the largest layer cake in history and win the respect of the world for all eternity!

Regie

FILIP HAMMAR (*1975) und FREDRIK WIKINGSSON (*1973), bekannt als Protagonisten aus Nice People (FILMFEST HAMBURG 2015) arbeiten zusammen als Autoren, Produzenten und Journalisten. Mit ihrer humorvollen und unkonventionellen Art sind sie seit 2002 erfolgreich als Duo im schwedischen Fernsehen unterwegs. The Cake General ist ihr Spielfilmdebüt.
