Synopse
In a tense mix of melodrama and dystopian vision, Bertrand Bonello tells of a life split over three eras: 1910, 2014 and 2044. The earth in the near future. AI has taken over and emotions are seen as a threat. AI forces Gabrielle (Léa Seydoux) to cleanse her DNA in a machine, this enables her to revisit her former life and will liberate her of all strong feelings. But then she meets Louis (George MacKay) with whom she immediately feels a bond, as if they had known each other for ever. At the same time, she has a dark premonition of an impending catastrophe. The film is based on the Henry James novella The Beast in the Jungle.
