Synopse
DOCUMENTARY A sinister journey into the imagination of mass murderers. A cinematic fever-dream about a shocking regime of impunity is a seminal piece of documentary film history. In a country where murderers are feted as heroes, the film crew ask the unrepentant leaders of a death squad, Anwar Congo and his friends, to dramatize their part in the 1965 massacres in Indonesia. But the killers’ idea is not to be witnesses in a documentary, they would rather be stars in their favourite film genres: gangster films, Westerns, musicals. They write the scripts. They play themselves. And they play their victims.
