Synopse

The Accordion is focused on two young musicians playing the accordion and the tablas to earn their living. One day, while they are playing in front of a mosque, a mullah commandeers their accordion, their only means of survival. They begin to look for the mullah and suddenly, in the maze of the bazaar, they recognize the sound of their accordion and discover that same mullah sitting on the floor and begging while playing their instrument... Will be the short film before The Green Wave

Regie

Films by JAFAR PANAHI (*1960) have won many awards, including The Mirror (1997), The Circle (2000) and Offside (2006) making him one of Iran's most important independent film-makers. Because of his criticism of the regime, most of his films are not shown in Iran. The Accordion (2010), This Is not a Film (2011) and Closed Curtain (2013) have all been shown at FILMFEST HAMBURG.
