Synopse

A man wanders through Cairo looking for work. Lonely, tattered, forced to live in inhumane conditions. He's lived this life for 11 years. He came to the city from the countryside and cannot go home. An uprooted, nomadic existence spent searching for the existential minimum and what is left of his dreams. With an amazing, sometimes shocking degree of proximity and intimacy, the film documents its protagonist's everyday life between labouring and masturbation and portrays post-revolutionary Egypt as a precarious poorhouse with no way out.

Regie

Ahmad Festok (*1990) fled from Aleppo in Syria to Egypt where he studied film at theAcademy of Arts in Cairo. Stray ishis debut feature film.
