Synopse
A young woman (Anna Maria Mühe) drowns in a pond one night. The apparent act of desperation by a mentally ill person preys on the mind of Inspector Krüger (Christian Redl). The dead woman had lost her daughter five years previously in a car accident she had herself caused and had been in therapy ever since. The deeper Krüger gets into the case, the more he has to confront his own past. The investigation becomes a test of his own psychological stability. With the close involvement of both countryside and inhabitants of the Spreewald region, a dense drama unfolds in a flawed idyll.
