Synopse

One summer, five girlfriends and a major crime: this debut feature is an impressive update of Rob Reiner’s 1980s classic Stand by Me – from a female perspective. Emerson’s family move to a remote, deeply religious community somewhere in Canada. The 15-year old soon makes friends with a self-confident girl called Delilah. Together they roam the woods. Then one day a young girl is found dead. The authorities suspect an animal attack, but Emerson has also been followed in the woods by a “monster”. Together with Delilah and three friends, she decides to release her own dark powers and take the creature on.

CARLY MAY BORGSTROM (born in Canada) studied theatre sciences, headed a children’s theatre in Taiwan and graduated in Film at the Film and Television Institute of India, as well as the University of Arts in Hamburg.
