Synopse
Jing is deaf and lives in a fishing village with her mother's family. When the relationship between the pubescent girl and her uncle strays far beyond the bounds of the acceptable, she has to go and live with her father in the city. A headstrong teenager is, however, the last thing he needs, as he is trying to get his still new relationship with Mei, 20 years his junior, on an even keel. Jing doesn't hold back with the contempt she feels for her father and his girlfriend. Slowly, the three protagonists start to shed their reservations about each other. Song of Silence is young, independent cinema from China which doesn't shy away from dealing with controversial topics.
