Synopse

Endless green fields, craggy rock formations and majestically thundering surf – the landscape of Ireland. This breath-taking natural spectacle, along with the country's myths and fables have been a commanding influence on Irish folk musician Joe Heaney. Born in 1919, he has dedicated his life to the traditional Gaelic song form of Sean-nós and become an international legend. Song Of Granite takes an unsentimental look at an artist as driven as he is gifted, from his childhood in Ireland and his time in the USA, up until his death. Shot in mesmerizing monochrome and enhanced with rare archive footage, the film celebrates the beauty of Irish culture.
