Synopse
New York in the early 1960s: the Irish quarter of Hell’s Kitchen is ruled by the Mafia. Gambling and prostitution are as old as the city and the police deals with the offences the same way they've done for 100 years: they manage them. As head of the vice squad and nephew of a mafioso, Terry Muldoon (Edward Burns) has to walk a fine line between public order and established corruption. But the new blood coming through on both sides is jeopardising this fine balance and the district slides into chaos. When the murder of his uncle Mr. O (Timothy Hutton) sets off a war between two groups in the Irish Mafia, Muldoon has his hands full to keep his city under control. FILMFEST HAMBURG is showing the first episodes of the new series.
Regie
EDWARD BURNS (*1968), creator of the series and lead actor, was inspired to write Public Morals by growing up in a police family. As author, director and producer he was substantially involved in the realization of the series.
