Synopse

The feature film debut of student Oscar winner Alex Schaad: a sci fi love story telling of a couple who try to save their relationship with an identity swap. At first glance, Leyla (Mala Emde) and Tristan (Jonas Dassler) seem happy together. On the invitation of a childhood friend of Leyla's, they take a trip to a remote island. Soon after their arrival, it becomes apparent that strange things happen here. Numerous couples come together in order to see the world through someone else's eyes. Leyla and Tristan also undergo the swap ritual and experience how their perception and thus too their needs change. Leyla is particularly happy, she feels filled with a new sense of life. When she refuses to return to her old self, the situation gets out of control.

Regie

ALEX SCHAAD (*1990 in Kazakhstan) moved to Germany with his family when he was three and later studied direction from 2013 to 2019 at the HFF Munich. His short film Invention of Trust won the Max Ophüls Prize for the best mid-length film in 2016 and the Student Oscar in gold.
