Synopse
The young Chinese woman Mei is on a quest: to find herself, to find work, to find love, to find her place in life. First she travels to Chongqing, then to London, into the arms of old Mr Hunt. Ultimately she meets Rachid, a young man from India. But he returns to India and leaves her behind, pregnant. Xiaolu Guo:"The rhythm of the film has a rapid style. The open ending of the film presents an unknown future of the new China – risky, mysterious, and provocative."
Regie
Xiaolu Guo (*1973) won The Golden Leopard in Locarno with her first feature She, a Chinese (2009). Ufo in Her Eyes ist an adaption of her own novel of the same title.
