Synopse
In some quarters, people saw Rodriguez as a potentially greater talent than Bob Dylan. The US folk musician’s only album was critically acclaimed, but didn’t sell. Thereafter, Rodriguez disappeared and there were rumours he had committed suicide by self-immolation. Then his album was picked up by the protest movement in apartheid-era South Africa and he became a superstar there. Decades later, at the end of the 1990s, two fans tried to find out what had become of Rodriguez. Director Bendjelloul picks up their research and completes the puzzle piece by piece to form an incredible but true story.
