Synopse

SERIES A confident, idiosyncratic look at the realities of life for Black and queer people in Hamburg. The series tells a story of loss, identity and a new beginning. When 20-something Lalo (Lamin Leroy Gibba) is thrown off course by the sudden death of his father, he attempts to suppress his loss with impulsive actions – which not only turns his own life upside down, but also the life of his closest companions. At the same time, his best friend Karla (Melodie Simina) achieves her goals in the world of finance, but is fighting growing exhaustion and loneliness. Between quick comebacks and speechlessness, generational conflicts and chosen family, flirts and growing pains, Lalo and Karla try to become the people they want to be – despite the chaos that regularly breaks out.

ELISHA SMITH-LEVEROCK (born in Würzburg) is an American-German director. Their work includes Miss Black Germany (2019), Triple Beam Dream (2020) and Rejoice Resist (2021). DAVID UZOCHUKWU (*1998 in Innsbruck) is an Austrian-Nigerian artist. Uzochukwu’s film works include Civil Dusk (2021) and Götterdämmerung (2020).
