Synopse
A man with no past dies a thousand deaths in films, until he rediscovers his own life. Miyamatsu lives a modest life as a cable car operator and as a sideline works as an extra in Japanese gangster and samurai films, constantly slipping into short-lived existences of nameless strangers. Through a chance meeting he is confronted with a different life – his own, the one he lost. The triumvirate of directors portray their protagonist Teruyuki Kagawa in clearly composed pictures, but constantly surprising sequences, and investigate his existence on the fringe of film.
Regie
MASAHIKO SATO (*1954 in Japan) is a professor at the Tokyo Art School. Together with two of his students, YUTARO SEKI (*1987) und KENTARO HIRASE (*1986) he created the debut feature Roleless, which was shown in competition at the film festival in San Sebastián.
