Synopse

In mortal danger, Chryssa takes refugee children across the river Evros which separates Turkey from Greece. Their luggage is packed with drugs – the kids aren‘t old enough to be prosecuted and thus make ideal couriers for drug traffickers. One night, Yannis, a Greek soldier sees the people-smuggler and her illegal caravan. The two fall in love and begin a secret affair. But the masterminds of the smuggling ring are on their trail – notably Ivo, the father of Chryssa‘s child.

Regie

PANOS KARKANEVATOS (*1962). Sein Debüt Border Line (1994) und sein zweiter Film Earth and Water (1999) liefen auf internationalen Festivals. Kala krymmena mystika, Athanasia gewann 2008 den FIPRESCI-Preis beim Filmfestival in Thessaloniki.
