Synopse
Andrea Arnold’s debut feature is a quiet, almost meditative thriller in the tradition of British social drama – with nods to Michael Haneke. Jackie works for City Eye Control, the state video monitoring system in Glasgow. Her daily work consists of watching other people – until she recognizes a man on the screen. Her past has caught up with her and she starts stalking him. Red Road was the first film under the label »Advance Party«, set created by a trio of Scottish-Danish producers, Gillian Berrie, Lone Scherfig and Anders Thomas Jensen, who created a set of rules, analogue to the Dogma 95 manifesto: all films had to be debuts and use the same ensemble of characters.
