Synopse

Animation Director Victor Orozco Ramirez tells a personal story: freshly arrived in Germany, he follows the escalating drugs war in his home country via the Internet. Cartels upload videos of executions and so-called "narco blogs" to YouTube. With hand-drawn animation and rotoscoping, Ramirez alienates the gruesome imagery and thus avoids accusations of voyeurism and the spectacle of violence made accessible by the Internet.

Regie

Victor Orozco Ramirez studied industrial design in Guadalajara, Mexico and did his Master's at the Hamburg School of Visual Arts. Reality 2.0 is his graduation film and in 2013 won the German Film Academy's Preis der Nationalgalerie für junge Filmkunst.
