Synopse

Jacques Doillon returns to his favourite subject of love for this intensive emotional drama shot in Marrakesh. Beautiful young Raja (Najat Benssallem) lives on the streets. Fred (Pascal Greggory), a Frenchman in Morocco, takes her on as his housekeeper. He not only falls in love with her, but becomes sexually dependent on her. She, too, loves him and the world he embodies. But he speaks no Arabic, she no French. They live in two different worlds – brought together by lust and greed. A tale of sexual obsession and the impossibility of love.
