Synopse
Henri Charrière (Steve McQueen) wears the symbol of his absolute will to be free on his chest: a butterfly. The tattoo led him to be nicknamed Papillon. In the 1930s, he is sent to a prison camp in French Guyana for a murder he didn‘t commit. On the journey he gets to know Louis Dega (Dustin Hoffman), a shy, slight forger. The two become friends. With Dega’s support, Papillon starts a legendary series of bold attempts to escape, one of which even takes him to Columbia. A magnificently shot, very exciting adventure film.
