Synopse

Nusret suffers from Alzheimer’s, no longer able to care for herself in her village on the Black Sea. Her children deem it best for her to move into a nursing home in Istanbul. When grandchild Murat suggests an outing to her, she asks him to help her return to her village… Director Ustaoˇglu treats the topics of age and family, presenting a modern, European Turkish society with problems we can all relate to. At the San Sebastian Film Festival "Pandora’s Box" was presented the awards for best film and best actress.

Yesim Ustaoglu, born in 1960, filmmaker. Her works include"The Trace" (1994), "Journey to the Sun" (1999), "Waiting for the Clouds" (2004), "Pandora’s Box" (2008).
