Synopse

This dark psychodrama is based on a true story that happened in Belgium in 2007. It begins in bright colours: Murielle and Mounir adore each other and get married. Their happiness begins to darken when they move in with Dr. Pignet, Mounir's foster father who took the Moroccan in as a young boy and brought him up. The two have an almost obsessive interdependency. Caught between the dominant Pignet and her submissive husband, Murielle is worn down. The birth of four children in just a few years causes the "family's" situation to rapidly worsen - catastrophe beckons...


Regie

Joachim Lafosse (*1975) studierte am Institut des arts de diffusion in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgien. Seinem Regiedebüt Folie privée (2004) folgte der Film Nue propriété (2006), der im Wettbewerb der Filmfestspiele von Venedig lief. Our Children ist sein fünfter Langfilm.
