Synopse

Wang Yao is an unscrupulous petty thief who has just been released from jail. Flashbacks convey images from a dark past, when Wang Yao repeatedly put waitress Li Chua’s love for him to the test, forcing her into prostitution and endangering her life. Following in the footsteps of Kim Ki-duk and David Lynch, director Liu Fendou tells a tale of a destructive love that leads to deadly dependence. A literary adaptation of the novel by Wang Shuo, an enfant terrible of Peking’s cultural scene.
