Synopse
Germany 1936: The Olympic Games are close at hand and Nazi Germany is lusting for new idols. Mountaineers from all over Europe head for the north face of the Eiger, in hope of a gold medal. Among them, climbing aces Toni Kurz (Benno Fürmann) and Andi Hinterstoisser (Florian Lukas). When newspaper editor Arau (Ulrich Tukur) discovers that intern Luise (Johanna Wokalek) is a school friend of Toni's and Andi's, he scents a sensational propagandist story and makes her convince them to tackle the murderous mountain. As they battle against an Austrian team and the forces of nature, Luise must decide between the propaganda machine of the Third Reich and her feelings for Toni. Based on a true story and set against a breathtaking alpine backdrop, "North Face" redefines the genre of the mountain film.
