Synopse
After the eponymous best-seller by Alina Herbing: with an unflinching camera and an almost documentary feel, this film puts an end to the myth of romantic country life. Midsummer in a village in Mecklenburg. Five houses, a bus stop, cows and fields. 24-year old Christin (Saskia Rosendahl) lives with her boyfriend Jan (Rick Okon) on her father’s dairy farm. There is no longer any trace of the spirit of optimism of the years after the Wall came down, still less in their relationship. In the blazing heart of the summer, time seems to stand still and all Christin wants to do is escape. But when wind turbine engineer Klaus (Godehard Giese) from Hamburg turns up, the young woman senses hope that the world may begin to turn again.
