Synopse
Guibord is an independent member of the Canadian parliament and represents Prescott-Makadewà-Rapides-aux-Outardes, a constituency in the North of Québec. To his great disappointment, he finds that he holds the balance in a vote of national importance: should Canada get involved militarily in the Middle East? Guibord's vote is decisive. The whole country is watching. Accompanied by his wife, daughter and an idealistic intern from Haiti, he tours his constituency to consult with his voters. Soon, he is confronted by the contradictory demands of peace activists, mine workers, truckers and fellow politicians. The debate explodes and Guibord is in danger of completely losing control. My Internship in Canada is a biting satire in which politicians, citizens and lobbyists compete with each other to be the first to bring down democracy.
