Synopse
In this queer thriller, director Alain Guiraudie uses subversive humour to illustrate a tale of suppressed emotions and sexual desire. After 10 years away, 30-year old Jérémie returns to his home village to attend the funeral of his former mentor, baker Jean-Pierre. Martine, the widow, persuades him to stay longer than planned. While Martine hopes that Jérémie will take over her husband’s business, her son Vincent is anything but enthusiastic about his return. With each new day and encounter Jérémie has, old wounds reopen – and when someone mysteriously disappears, his life and the village’s get out of control.
