Synopse
RECOMMENDED FROM AGE 9: After spending months in hospital, 10-year old Mike is finally supposed to be released, but his mother isn't there to pick him up. The strict youth welfare officer Celia, known to Mike because of her curly hair as "the poodle", wants to transfer him to a foster family until it's established whether his mother can take care of him. Now Mike has to spend Christmas with a set of strangers, but is convinced that he can look after himself. He tries everything to convince the welfare office to let him go home. Maria Peters (*1958) studied at the Dutch Film Academy and is co-founder of the Shooting Star film company. As director and author, she has made various children's films and produced the winner of the 2012 Michel prize Stay!
