Synopse
A powerful plea for female empowerment, based on the eponymous bestseller by Daniela Dröscher. Provincial West Germany in the 1980s. In the family of Cornelia (Rosalie Thomass) there’s only one topic of conversation: her weight. Should she slim down? Yes, says her husband Werner (Golo Euler), who is obsessed with the idea that his wife’s weight is responsible for all the failures in his life, like the lack of recognition and progress up the social ladder of the village. Cornelia has to listen to this every day, while her daughter Ela (Elise Lindner) is torn and falls increasingly under her father’s influence.
