Synopse
Can a parental nightmare have a happy ending. How does it feel when your only child disappears? What if it never reappears, your whole life long? This is the fate that Ingo Thiel (Heino Ferch) has to deal with when a decades-old cold case lands on his desk. 15-year old Sven disappeared in 1997. The investigation got nowhere, leaving his parents in despair. Now, 25 years later, the family starts getting letters telling them of Sven’s imminent return. Thiel takes the case on – so that Sven’s parents can finally find peace. After such a long time, the search for clues isn’t easy: the place where Sven was last seen is now the lunar landscape of the gigantic Garzweiler open-cast mine.
