Synopse
Documentary Not every California has a Hollywood. The Northern German seaside resort with the American name doesn't even have a cinema. But in many other parts of the North German coast, film aficianados are fighting to preserve a living film culture. What drives them is not the prospect of making a lot of money, but their desire to experience good cinematography and great stories. Like Frank Schleich in Prerow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. He and his wife have been running their little Cinema Paradiso since the 1990s. The target audience isn't the 1400 inhabitants, but the summer tourists whose admission money then tides the Schleich family over the often empty winter months. The film is a journey to the edge of filmic viability and a declaration of love to a cinematic survivor
