Synopse
In 2008, the Indian government set up a programme to integrate 500 million untrained workers from rural areas into the booming industrial sector in the cities. Orlanda, sister of the British director Chloe Ruthven, is recruiting a workforce for the textile industry to produce clothing on behalf of big international brands. She is convinced that the workers, mostly young girls, have a better chance here than in the poor country areas they come from. Her sister doesn't share this opinion. She accompanies Bhanu and Buntu, friends from the same village who come to the city to join this huge army of workers. Their experiences in the brands' "training centres" and factories don't support Orlanda's hope of emancipation for the women through access to industrial work.
