Synopse

Due to an atmospheric inversion, the smog over Tehran is particularly extreme. Niloofar, mid-30s, is a tailoress and meets a man in her spare time. When her mother, who has lung problems, collapses due to the poor air quality and is given the stark choice by the doctors of either dying from the next attack or leaving Tehran, Niloofar's brother and the family elders decide that she should move to the provinces – and Niloofar should accompany her. She's the youngest, has no children and is never any trouble. But Niloofar doesn't want to give up her life in the city and her love and does something she's never done before: she defies the family decision. With fascinating insights into everyday life in Tehran, the film portrays the "inversion" of a woman and her mutiny against male domination.
