Synopse
The fishing boat Matthildur comes to the small town where the 18-year-old Ingalo lives with her parents and younger brother. Tired of poverty and her despotic father, Ingalo leaves home and she and her brother sign up on the Matthildur. After years at sea with her father Ingalo is hardened but her brother is not cut out for the rough life. Ingalo is torn between her protective feelings for her brother and her growing love for Skúli, the Matthildur's steward. One day the Matthildur sets off on its final fateful voyage.
