Synopse

Documentary "The longer you think, the likelier it is that you'll get something like the double bonus game on a fruit machine": four young people from the German provinces are on the threshold of adulthood. A time of upheaval and insecurity. The known is coming to an end, the unknown hasn't yet begun. Noel, Lea, Leif and Johanna wish for boundaries and self-determination. But where will their paths lead? Embedded in superbly photographed landscapes, the film portrays the four protagonists over a year in limbo between doubt and hope.

THOMAS OSWALD (*1980) is a graduate of the Hamburg Fine Arts University and studied under Rüdiger Neumann and Wim Wenders. He works as a director and cameraman. Im Mittelpunkt der Welt is his debut full-length film.
