In July 1952, Farouk I, the last king of Egypt, was overthrown by the military. Mahmoud Sabit's father was a cousin of the king. In the family archive, Sabit discovers a few rolls of film. They are all that is left of a long-lost film made by the royal family with friends. A private project with the title Oil and Sand about the fall from power of a sheikh - six weeks before the actual coup that ended the rule of the Pharaohs.
