Synopse

DOCUMENTARY Dani Karavan’s works are iconic monuments of memory. The film follows the sculptor on a turbulent journey and portrays a combative man who refuses to be forgotten. When Dani Karavan died last May at the age of 90, he left behind more than 100 urban installations, including the Berlin memorial for the Sinti and Roma victims of the Nazis. Two years previously, the Israeli had toured the world in order to visit as many of these structures as possible. But his celebrated works are often in bad condition – just like Karavan’s health. The artist reacts in his own special way: grumpily and with gloriously cheeky humour.
