Synopse
A haunting portrait of a woman in a painful struggle about body politics and self-autonomy based on a story by Annie Ernaux. France, 1963. Anne is a gifted and industrious student, who is looking to climb the social ladder and escape the constraints of her background. Due to an unplanned pregnancy, the door appears to be closed for Anne – and alternatives are still covered by a blanket of silence. Anne visits different doctors, desperately seeking help and finding none, still less solidarity. In her intense interpretation of the role, Anamaria Vartolomei makes tangible the sovereign spirit of a persistent young woman.
