Synopse

Using selected film documentaries from the NDR archives, the author describes the Zeitgeist and emotional climate in the Hansestadt at the beginning of the 1990s: He remembers the celebration of Germany's reunification in front of the town hall, the protest against the Gulf war or hatred of foreigners, the arguments concerning the "Mercado"-building in Ottensen, the new constructions of the publishing house Gruner & Jahr and the airport terminal. In addition their are interviews with contemporaries like Jan Fedder or Thea Bock.

Regie

Christian Mangels (*1962) is a journalist and historian. Since 1994 he works as a free lance journalist and author of TV-specials with mainly contemporary historical content for series like Hamburg in the 20th century.
