Synopse
How an orphan became one of the most popular singers of the Arabic world is movingly and equally lavishly told in the biopic of Abdel Halim Hafez (1929-77) who died of bilharzia at 48. Ahmad Zaki, the De Niro of the Nile, plays Halim who lived only for his music. Like him, he caught bilharzia and did not live to see the finished film. Zaki's son gives an impressive film debut as the young Halim.
